Chia – The "Ancient Energy" Superfood for Radiant Blue Blooms and Omega-Rich Nutrition

Shop the highest quality Chia seeds and discover the secret energy source of the ancient warriors. When it comes to nutritional density, Chia is the "Tiny Titan." This member of the mint family is famous for its beautiful spires of purple-blue flowers and its tiny seeds that are a powerhouse of healthy fats. At The Seed Guy, we believe we aren't just selling seeds; we are planting a connection to our ancestors, the golden beauty of a homegrown harvest waving in the wind, and the security of a self-sufficient pantry.

In the garden, Chia is a tall, elegant plant that looks more like a decorative flower than a food crop. This variety is the premier choice for anyone who wants to "get your smoothy on"—offering a versatile seed that expands in liquid to create healthy breakfast bowls and smoothies. It is a fantastic companion plant for grapes and roses, as its flowers are a magnet for bees and butterflies. At The Seed Guy, our seeds are tested for elite germination, ensuring you get sturdy, flowering plants that provide a "County Fair Quality" harvest of the world’s most famous superfood.

Chia Planting Instructions:

1. When to Plant: Chia loves the sun! Plant outdoors in late spring once all danger of frost is gone. They need a long, warm season to produce seeds.

2. Preparation: Choose a sunny location with well-draining soil. Chia does not like "wet feet," so ensure the soil doesn't stay soggy.

3. Sowing: Scatter the tiny seeds on the surface and lightly press them into the soil. Barely cover them, as they need a little light to wake up.

4. Care: Once the plants reach 6 inches tall, they are very self-sufficient. Water only during extreme dry spells.

5. Pests and Diseases: Chia is naturally pest-resistant (most bugs don't like the scent of the leaves). Harvest the seeds by cutting the flower heads once the petals have fallen off and drying them in a paper bag.
