10 Variety Microgreen Heirloom Seed Package Planting Instructions:
1. Preparation: Microgreens do not require deep soil. A shallow tray (1-2 inches deep) with high-quality potting mix or a coconut coir mat works perfectly. Ensure your tray has drainage holes to avoid standing water.
2. Sowing: Spread your seeds thickly and evenly across the surface of the moist soil. Unlike garden vegetables, microgreens are grown close together. Press the seeds gently into the soil but do not cover them deeply; a very light dusting of soil is all they need.
3. Care: Keep the soil consistently moist by using a spray bottle to mist the seeds daily. Cover the tray for the first 2-3 days to maintain humidity until you see sprouts. Once they emerge, move them to a sunny windowsill or under a grow light.
4. Harvesting: Harvest your microgreens when the first set of "true leaves" appears, usually at 2-3 inches tall. Use clean scissors to snip the greens just above the soil line. Rinse gently and enjoy immediately for maximum nutrition.
5. Pests & Disease: Because microgreens grow so fast and are usually grown indoors, pests are rarely an issue. To prevent mold or "damping off," ensure your trays have good air circulation and avoid over-saturating the soil.
